Ms Spotty

She came into my life two years ago. Somebody left her and she was being shared by the occupants of the three houses in Bandar Baru Bangi. Ms Spotty is so lovable and she just has the knack of warming your heart. Remembered the day when Papa and the rest of the Jhora came for a makan session and how Ms Spotty just sat on Papa's lap and Papa wanted to take her home instantly but Mama said no cats in the house. Alas, three weeks later both she and Papa took three kittens left behind their house!
Cats have always featured in my life. Ever since young I always had a cat. Remembered Manggis, my black cat who gave birth to many kittens that my Mum decided to leave her and kittens across the river in Ulu Bernam, some 5 km away from our house. How my sisters and I cried and begged her not to do it. Alas parents think they know best, but not really. Two weeks later, Manggis and kittens reappeared on our doorstep to our joy and to my Mum's regret. Manggis stayed on till she died.
When we moved to Kuala Lumpur we had this crazy cat called Yara. She would sit on top of our TV and let her tail dangle much to our annoyance as we tried to watch TV. She would just come and sit on our lap and for no reason at all would suddenly jump and scratch you. We reckoned she was schizophrenic and required high dosage of litium. Perhaps that explained Yara's penchant for salt!
Even when I was in Wrexham we had Siti, the tom cat shared by all of us girls in Beech Gardens. And when I was in Manchester I had Rusty. She kept me company especially during those cold winter months. Nice to have a live leg warmer. However, her upkeep was expensive especially when you are on a tight government scholarship. But it was worth it as she gave me the emotional support during the stressful examination months.
Now Ms Spotty is always by my side as I moved into my new abode. For a year she has shared my turmoils and tribulations. She has been there without complain. She is one very spoiled cat but we all love her. She is adorable especially when she race you up the stairs and her fat belly wobbles left and right. You get my drift I'm sure. And as I'm writing this post she is nicely curled up next to me.
Cats makes your heart go soft. Cats make you become a big hearted person. Cats make you appreciate the blessings Allah has bestowed upon you. Cats too has ensured that my rezeki has been plentiful. We always had food on the table. Period.
Thank you ya Allah for all your blessings.
