When I first heard Adele I thought what a beautiful voice. That was Rollin in the Deep. However my hair stood on end when I heard the live version of this Someone Like You. It just brings out the raw emotions in your soul. She does not just sing beautifully but she truly brings her soul to the surface in this live version. Enjoy it!
How often do you meet people who can move your soul in and out.
Of the millions of words in the English dictionaries the word I love most is serendipity. When growing up I used to love reading romance novels and the term serendipity kept cropping up which means happy chance discovery.
There are many important discoveries in science which is serendipitous in nature. The drug cisplatin which has helped cure many patients with cancer is a very apt example. Rosernberg carried out an experiment in a laboratory with glass windows. During the experiment sunlight lit the electrolysis set he was using and caused a reaction that changed the course of inorganic chemistry! Another good example is teflon. They were studying reaction mechanism and chanced upon this non-stick material. Both cisplatin and teflon were discovered by accident and very happy one though.
Which brings me to our chance meetings in life.
How many of us goes out of the house and say to ourselves "Today I shall meet my future wife or future husband". Not many right. That is why in matters of the heart, fate will play a big role. As often said in the Malay adage "Jodoh ditangan Allah".
I have seen many of my friends who had a long courtship only to see them going their separate ways.
I remembered meeting this old couple who met on a cruise ship. She was Australian and he was British but the short summer romance ended with a 50 year and still going strong marriage. Serendipity!
I gather serendipity will play a big role in our lives if we have a pure heart. Think positive and good things will drift into our lives. Even my students are requested to say their doas before each experiment. Think good things and you will end up with cancer curing compounds. Fate will always overrule the chemistry.
Serendipity will play cupid when you least expect it. So to all my dear friends still looking for love keep an open heart.
